About Me

Hey there good people! My name is Shondrika Cook, owner of The Natural Shoppe, and I am delighted to be serving the people, both native and new, of Houston, my hometown.

As a member of the natural hair community since 2008, I understand the journey of letting go of relaxers and allowing my hair to grow in its tight curls. Houston’s humidity has brought on some extra adventure too!

When I made a life pivot in 2018 and entered the hair industry, natural hair was at the forefront of my mind, so I took on salon training at a natural hair salon. I specialize in the care and styling of natural hair and locs, but I’m always looking for opportunities to learn more in depth.

The health of your hair is paramount to my work. The salon has a carefully curated set of products that bring out the very best in your tight curls, coils, and locs! You’ll leave the salon feeling like a new person!

When I’m not at the salon, you can find me exploring my beloved Houston, either at an indie music concert (or Beyoncé), working at my favorite coffee shop, checking out the latest art exhibit, or searching for one-of-a-kind vintage pieces.
